I have found through art, music, dance, poetry, writing, etc.. survivors and anyone, can express... their true emotions, which aids their healing and spiritual journey, regardless of beliefs. We carry with us the traveling, Shattering The Silence Wall at each conference for attendees to post their stories, art, and poetry. It grows from town to town.

Yes, it does take courage, but when someone speaks up about their pain, it helps them heal, and inspires others. It also takes away the power of the perpetrator, who has held them down through silence, fear, shame, and degradation. Once they speak their truth, the power of the perpetrator tumbles like a house of cards. This is very powerful and how art is such a powerful tool for healing. Survivors finally realize they are not alone, and many others are awaiting for this person to take their place, with the army of advocates across our country, and across the globe. We can not pass down another multi-generational epidemic to our children. This is the day we speak up to say, "Enough is Enough" and "I will not be silent anymore"!! The children are counting on you.

I lecture in our conferences on the importance of advocates banning together because perpetrators have a very intricate network as well. If we don't ban together, then we have lost this battle already.

We left home August 2012, to begin the Shattering The Silence Tour and Documentary Project, at FACSAFoundation.org. We are currently in Ottawa, Canada, on the Spring part of the tour, which is about our 40th stop of the tour. Since we left home, we have seen some amazing things.
  1. We have seen more survivors sharing their stories, promoting their own helaing, and inspiring others as well.
  2. We have seen more organizations collaborating to combat this multi-generational epidemic. At the end of our conferences we host a Brainstorming Q & A, which helps share resources, knowledge, and creativity from across the country and brings solutions, for us all to serve our communities better.
  3. We have been made aware of the human trafficking problem, which is  now a 32 Billion Dollar industry, where parents are selling their children for prostitution, out of poverty, for drugs, for porn rings, as favors to friends, and a lot of it is happening in the U.S.A. and Canada. According to American University, Laura Hadsner, the U.S. produces 50% of all global porn; which is usuing our children. So, how do they get access, you may ask? Perpetrators are mostly in the homes and communities, and why most survivros do not disclose until the reach a safe zone. For some kids, that could take years, and yet for some others, they do not live that long for hope to arrive. If someone is threatened they love and care about, or thier loves are threatened, they will not tell, and why we have to provide safer environments for our children. Kids prostituting on the streets, many times come from these homes, or they are kidnapped and forced to serve as prostitutes, as early as 12 years old. Your call to police can help get them home safely. It is better to provide prevention and education, than it is to fix a broken adult or a broken child. The abuse will affect every aspect of their lives, school, work, relationships, with issues of not being able to trust authority, or our mates; not being able to set healthy boundaries; suffering from PTSD, Depression, Chemical dependendencies, over eating, or being a workaholic.
  4. The Shattering The Silence Tour is creating a paradigm shift of child sexual assault and human trafficking. For survivors to talk, they are knocking down the power the perpetrator has over them, through fear, shame, and degradation. This is the only thing, where talking can create so much healing. Survivors see they are not only taking their power back, but the truth, which is they had the power all along; and their voice does make a difference.
  5. Join the Shattering The Silence Tour and Documentary Project, at FACSAFoundation.org The children are counting on you. facsasavethechildren@hotmail.com
  6. Your donations help us provide prevention/education materials in each city, as well as fuel and food to make it to our next donation. Thank you for your love and continued support.

Susan Garren Connie Lee...We went to get some copies and tea for me...coffee for Connie. Walking along saw a Mother Duck with her brood trying to cross the street. I was trying to herd...do you herd Duck?...Anyway I kept hearing little peeping ducks that weren't with the Mother. I heard them down a storm drain. Connie and I lifted the grate and a Rob, a passer-by went to get swimming pool skimmer. 6 baby ducklings were in the drain. Rob and Connie pulled the ducks out of the drain, with the aid of a long umbrella from a by-stander and Rob's swimming pool net. Finally got them all out. School children and walkers cheering for the successful ending to the rescue of all ducklings. All 10 accounted for an off I walked Mama Duck across the road to where they were headed in the first place before the mishap.  I will try to load the video to come of Connie on her knees in her white pants "Quacking" her version of a Mother Duck calling her babies.

The FACSA Foundation changing the social stigma of child sexual assault, public policies, conducting current research of community needs and assessment, educating communities on prevention and education of child sexual assault, by hosting free conferences with local advocates; filming a documentary on survivors stories across the nation, the latest healing modalities, and the most effective counseling techniques, with the hundred and fifteen cities tour.

FACSA Foundation (Family and Friends Fighting Against Child Sexual Assault) is an all-volunteer staff, with a 501 (C) 3 status. We are traveling across the U.S. and Canada, on a hundred and fifteen cities Shattering The Silence Tour and Documentary Project. We will be in each location for two days and three nights.

Child sexual assault affects us all directly or indirectly. According to ChildHelp USA, every year 3.3 million reports of child abuse are made in the United States involving nearly 6 million children (a report can include multiple children). The United States has the worst record in the industrialized nation.  While many turn away in indifference, children are abused, raped and murdered on a daily basis. Five children die a day due to abuse and neglect, according to ChildHelp USA,http://www.childhelp-usa.com/pages/statistics. This is a multi-generational epidemic, which we cannot afford to pass down to our children.

According to Dr. Suzette Fromm Reed, of www.familyimpactseminars.org, an estimated 24.3 Billion dollars, directly cost to States each year, and an estimated 69.7 Billion dollars, from the indirectly cost of child sexual assault in our nation. We know this is incorrect because 90% of victims do not tell from fear, shame, and degradation, the perpetrator imprisons them in; or they are afraid of losing their only circle of support and love they have ever known, their family.

Today is the day we no longer turn away in indifference. Today is the day we tell our children, we have heard their silent cries in the night and we share their pain. Today, I will no longer be silent or turn away! People believe it is easy to turn away because you don’t see it. I say, “This is not true, for you see it every day from the angry and volatile society; which shoots up schools, murders and rapes children; where crimes of petty theft receive more sentencing than the rape of a child; where children are sold into indentured servitude, child porn, or into prostitution.

What kind of society have we become, where we stand by and allow such atrocities take place, and not raise our voices to change this?

Where is the OUTRAGE? "

Enough Is Enough, We Will Not Be Silent Any Longer!"

Join the FACSA Foundation Revolution at FACSAFoundation.org, or any local child advocacy groups!! I pass the baton to you, for you to advocate for our children. The children are counting on you!
